THE HOUSE OF ROTHSCHILD

In Germany, in 1743The founder of the House of Rothschild, Mayer Amschel was born.  He went into training to become a rabbi then changed his mind and went into finance.  During the war between England and France under Napoleon Amschel saw the Battle of Waterloo as a business opportunity.  If Napoleon won the English stock market would crash.  If Napoleon lost the market would soar.  

    Using carrier pigeons and signal lanterns to carry the news of the outcome of the battle he learned of Napoleons defeat before any one else in England.  He and his co-religionists put out the lie that Napoleon had won and the English market crashed.  Amschel and his Jewish associates jumped in and bought for pennies on the dollar.  The next day the truth emerged and they made a fortune.
