The 34-year-old man fell at about 2:30 p.m. Friday from the tower owned by Marcus Communications at 33 Mitchell Dr., police said.

The man was found unresponsive by medical personnel and was pronounced dead, police said. Police do not know how high he was on the tower when he fell.

The man was a contractor working on the tower but was not employed by Marcus Communications itself, the company confirmed Friday afternoon.

“We are sad to learn a tower climber fell from our communications tower this afternoon. He was not employed by Marcus Communications and was completing work on the tower. We are devastated and our deepest sympathies go out to the victim’s family.”

Manchester detectives and investigators from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration remained on scene into late Friday afternoon.
