MANCHESTER — A 34-year-old contractor died Friday after falling from a communications tower, police said.
Authorities were called to 33 Mitchell Drive around 2:30 p.m.
The address houses the headquarters of Marcus Communications.
The man, who was not identified, was working on the tower when he “fell from an unknown height,” police said in a tweet Friday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is being investigated as a fatal industrial accident, police said.
Manchester detectives and investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration were on the scene Friday.
“We are sad to learn a tower climber fell from our communications tower at our headquarters in Manchester this afternoon,” Marcus Communications said in a prepared statement Friday. “He was not employed by Marcus Communications and was completing work on the tower. We are devastated, and our deepest sympathies go out to the victim’s family.”
